Packing up, yet again

I’m here now trying to pack up books, clothes, randomables and all that jazz to hit the road tomorrow or the next and head out to Grand Bank. I am not a fan of driving on the Burin peninsula highway, but all will be well. I’m packing up my car with a huge tray full of herbs (my savoury and parsley have sprouted! And a bunch of the grown plants, such as oregano, mint, sage, cilantro, and basil are going strong and are soaking up UAC patio sun as I type), an old six speed Jordan’s mom has kindly loaned me, some scrounged up cupboard groceries and whatever else I’ll need this summer, keeping it all minimal. I’ll be living in a B&B this season. The company rented the entire house out, so a few of us will take it over. It’s a restored sea captain’s house, a heritage property, and I am extremely excited for it! We will have a washer and dryer! Man, 5 years and it has finally happened- me with the ability to do laundry from home! What a luxury!

Clowning is going very well, and we have worked out way up to our own masks, and the red nose! 3 classes left. Time goes by so fast, and the driving hasn’t been that bad. All is well, I miss dodge, the sea is soft and blowing with the warm wind, and I’m definitely taking advantage of BBQ feasting before I go!

Well, I arrived back to UAC mid-April and all has been well. The salt air that dries my clothes, the constant lull of the ocean pulling and crashing, the cats meow meow meowing to get in/out/fed/attention/love/chomp/spoiled! It’s wicked, and its really nice to be home with mom, see some family, help care for nan, and just be in a comfortable home. The weather has been kind, and I’ve been spending every weekend in St. John’s for a series of clowning through mask workshops with Sara Tilley, which have been very challenging but fun and rewarding. Fun folks too. Mom’s gone to Toronto to see my two sisters and niece/nephew for a couple of weeks, Ash is home from Alberta, and Grand Bank move is jst around the corner. I planted some herbs and wildflowers from seeds today, so I hope they’ll sprout! I should also be seeing Dodger soon too, if Pat gets his phone or I can talk to him again soon, so I’m thrilled. I have been spending time in town with lovely people as well, so we’re happy and healthy and doing well!
